Li Li was born in China and became UK resident in 2008. She obtained both Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Music Degree with distinction at the Birmingham Conservatoire. 

 

Li Li won the Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize, the Ellen May Cheshire Scholarship, the Mario Lanza Opera Prize (first runner-up), the Ashleyan Opera Prize, and Beijing Young Artist Vocal Competition.

 

Li Li has starred as Cio-Cio San in the London production “Finding Butterfly” by Steve Tiller, and in Madame Butterfly with Park Opera - both productions have earnt Li Li rave reviews. In September 2013 Li Li performed at the Tottori Festival in Japan with Opera Machine, again as Cio-Cio San.

 

In the last few years, she has toured with World On Stage’s opera gala tour productions in over 100 performances in the UK & Ireland's main theatres including Buxton Opera House, Croydon Fairfield Halls and Jersey Opera House. Her performances featured arias from Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Liu (Turandot), Almirena (Rinaldo), Papagena (Die Zauberflote), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro)


Li Li also performed at the Northern Theatre Opera Gala Concert (China) as Liu (Turandot) and Norma (Norma).
 
As an international soloist, Li Li appeared on Scottish TV, Italian RA1 and Eurosport International TV. Her Christmas recording single, a duet with the late Sir Christopher Lee reached the Top 20 USA Billboard Chart. She has also performed in Romania (Martial Arts Olympic Opening Ceremony), Superkombat's World Grand Prix Final, China (Chinese New Year Festival – Zhijiang City), G.F. Handel’s “Messiah”, Coleshill’s Last Night of the Proms, Bahrain (Elefteriades Productions) Lebanon (Platea Venue), Italy (Concerto Dell’Epifania), and solo recitals at the King’s College London, London St. Stephen’s Walbrook, St. Georges Bloomsbury, St Olave’s and Birmingham St Martin’s in the Bullring.
